If you’re looking for an enriching experience for your youth, mark your calendars for the Interfaith Youth Panel on April 6, 2025, at Myers Park United Methodist Church in Charlotte. From 5 PM to 7 PM, young voices from various faith backgrounds will come together to share their unique perspectives on faith, values, and traditions. This event is free for all teens and is designed to foster understanding and appreciation of diverse religious practices.
A Unique Opportunity for Community Engagement
Participating in the Interfaith Youth Panel is more than just listening — it’s about engaging and building relationships among different cultures and beliefs. The youth panelists will not only present their faith traditions but also share personal stories of how they live by their beliefs. This kind of dialogue encourages empathy and cross-cultural friendships, which are crucial in today’s diverse society.
Quality Conversations and Snacks
In addition to thought-provoking discussions, attendees can enjoy some snacks while mingling with panelists and other participants. It’s a perfect opportunity for teens to connect, ask questions, and learn from each other in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Safe Space for Open Dialogue
The church setting provides a welcoming environment where youth can feel comfortable exploring and discussing potentially challenging topics related to their beliefs. The aim is to create a safe space that nurtures curiosity and respect. This initiative supports the work of organizations like MeckMIN (Mecklenburg Ministries) by encouraging inclusiveness and promoting interfaith dialogue.
